Albert "Sonny" Weatherwax, born on December 11, 1942, in Albany, California, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was a loving figure whose life was marked by his unwavering kindness, authenticity, and unique sense of humor that endeared him to those who knew him.

Throughout his life, Sonny developed a profound passion for the great outdoors, embracing hobbies that included camping, hunting, fishing, archery, and playing music. He is survived by his beloved fiancée, Sharon Todd, and his children, Randy (Renee) Weatherwax, Terresa (Phil) Henson, Cathy (Mike) DesJardin, and Brooke (Nick) Vanderginst. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit, reflecting the warmth and support he consistently offered to everyone around him.

He was predeceased by his mother, Gladys Wold, and his brother, Kenneth "Jack" Weatherwax, who together shaped his early life and shared in his many adventures. Their memories continue to resonate within his family, creating a bond that will endure through the stories shared and love remembered.
