The final note of Alice Machalek's song faded into the mystic on October 18, 2022, while at her home in Davenport, Iowa.
Her kind heart, quick wit, and generosity reached further than her arms ever could. Her personality and determination made up for her small frame.
A former West Davenport High School student, Alice laid her roots down in Davenport. Throughout her adult years she worked at Service Rubber, Midland Press, and Silvercrest Garner Assisted Living. She had an uncanny ability to make others feel welcomed and to make friends everywhere she went.
Alice was a woman of many talents which she used to bless others. She enjoyed baking cookies, crocheting, and offering a shoulder to cry on for those in need. Of her many talents, one that was the most impressive was her natural gift of playing the piano. Alice started playing piano at the age of 3 and although she never read music, she played piano in a way that made those listening not just hear the song but to feel it. To listen to Alice play was to partake in the most inner part of who she was. The notes that would ring out carried pieces of her soul.
Those that knew her also knew of her love for her family, her kitties, and her husband, Scott Machalek. Scott and Alice enjoyed a 30-year marriage full of a love for one another that many can only hope for.
A friend, a co-worker, sister, daughter, mother, and wife, Alice will be deeply missed and most joyously remembered.
Alice is being welcomed into eternal rest by her parents Donald and Kathryn Joupperi, and brother Thomas Joupperi.
She made it to the Finnish line before her husband Scott Machalek, brothers Pete and Rich Joupperi, daughter Cassandra Ransom, grand-daughter Genesis Lusk, and many other close friends and family.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on her memory page.
