Sheffield, IL - Anthony “Tony” Sturtewagen,52, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at his home.
Tony was born May 4,1971, the son of Gerald and Mary Lou Sturtewagen. He graduated from Annawan High School.
He was a patriot and served in the National Guard. He was employed by Allegion of Princeton, IL at the time of his passing.
He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, living in the country, tinkering in the garage, gardening, and having a cold Budweiser. He enjoyed is job and cherished his coworker friends. He loved his boxers Allie and Brutas.
He had a good heart.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Mary Lou, who he cared for; his sisters Cindy (Rick) Jacobs of Kewanee, IL.; Sandra Sommer of Geneseo, IL.; Patty (Bob) Gould of Sheffield, IL, Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his father, his paternal and maternal grandparents.
He will be missed by his family, and friends who knew him as “Sturt” or “Butter”.
Per Tony’s wishes there will be no services. Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation, Moline. A private inurnment with family will be at a later date.
