Barbra Vera Duncan, affectionately known as Barb, passed away peacefully on October 3,2024, in Silvis, Illinois. Born on October 9, 1956, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Barb touched the lives of many with her vibrant spirit and loving nature.
Barb was a warm-hearted individual who possessed an extraordinary ability to connect with those around her. She was very, often engaging others in conversation and making them feel valued. Her humor and wit brought joy to countless moments, as she loved joking around and sharing laughter with friends and family alike.
Among her many interests, Barb found great pleasure in playing Bingo at Aspen, where she was known for her impressive winning streaks. She also enjoyed the intellectual challenge of crosswords and word searches, often losing herself in these activities for hours on end. A true connoisseur of simple delights, she cherished peanut butter M&M’s, read her Bible daily, and regularly tuned into her favorite Christian radio station, which nourished her faith and spirit.
Barb is survived by her beloved son, David Larter Jr., and daughter-in-law Katie; her son, Virgil Larter, and daughter-in-law Cindy; as well as four sisters and three brothers, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Beverly Poff; her father, Virgil Poff; and her brother, Bruce Poff. The legacy of Barb's laughter, compassion, and lightheartedness will remain a cherished memory to all who had the honor of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
