Brenda Kay Fleetwood, age 67 of Cleveland,IL left this world on April 9, 2022.
Brenda was an avid cat lover, enjoyed music, baseball, nascar and spending time with her family. She was an also an avid reader, curious theologist, and pursued lifetime education as she earned her GED in her thirties and went on to earn an AAS in Engineering along with other certificates from Blackhawk University in her mid fifties. She adored her daughter Brandy and her son in law Eric with whom she spent her final years, also of Cleveland, IL. She was very proud of her granddaughter Savanna and smitten with her great granddaughter Hazel.
Brenda passed away peacefully in her home, as she wished, after a long time battle with cancer. She is preceded and joins in death her life partner Ed, also her siblings Don, Jeanette, and Alice, and her beloved parents Clarence & Alice Fleetwood. She leaves her brothers Gene & Charles, sisters Joy & Shellie, and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews in this earthly realm. Her nieces Misty and Tyne, Alice's daughters, always held a special place in her heart.
Brenda was an amazing and caring person, who always helped out whoever she could. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and will continue to inspire us from the beyond.
Savanna wanted to add - My grandma Brenda took me to see Slayer (and Marilyn Manson) when I was 13 in Chicago, much to my mothers displease (haha). She was the coolest grandma ever. Savanna has started a GoFundMe to help the family with expenses, you can donate here: https://bit.ly/3vgoJoC
No formal services will be held. We will have a celebration of life party at Leisure Time Billiards banquet room in East Moline, IL on Wednesday April 20 from 6pm - 8pm.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on her Memory Wall.
