Brenda Jean Wendhausen passed away peacefully at home with her husband and daughter by her side on January 31, 2022, after a ten-month battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren.
Born July 10, 1962, in Clinton, IA, she graduated high school from Davenport West. She enjoyed a great career working at Genesis Medical Center for twenty-one years. Brenda loved spending time at car shows with her husband and cruiser family. She was a member of several car clubs, including Goodguys, Quad Cities Cruisers, and the National Impala Association. Having a green thumb, Brenda enjoyed spending time in the garden - with a beautiful array of plants to show for it. Other beloved pastimes included relaxing outdoors in the pool and, most of all, spending precious time with her grandkids, whom she adored.
She was the most kind, caring, and selfless person, and in return, she was greatly loved by so many. Her family was everything to her. She was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Barry Wendhausen, her daughter Penny (Calvin) Truong; grandchildren Eli and Amelia Truong, a sister Paula Booth (Donald Senter), along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Utsinger, and a grandmother, Ellen Benson.
A Celebration of Life will be held 12 pm-3 pm Sunday, February 20, at Ganzo’s Mexican Restaurant, Davenport, IA. Relatives and friends are welcome to join her family at this meaningful restaurant, where there will be appetizers, and we can drink a Miller Lite in her honor. This will be a casual event, so feel free to come and go as you please during this time.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on Brenda's memory wall.
