Brian Duex

Brian Edward Duex passed away unexpectedly on January 15th, 2023.

He was born in Davenport, IA on May 21st, 1970, to Thomas and Carol Duex.

Brian DJ’ed from the time he stole his brother’s record player and was known to some, simply as DJ Hi-Tech. Over the last 30 years, Brian DJ’ed many QC area clubs/bars, weddings, private events, and any other place where a proper vibe was necessary. In his time outside of DJing, he loved spending time with his son, hanging out with friends, making beats, producing a radio show and spending time with his son’s cats who he called his ‘grandkitties.’ Over the past couple years, he had also rekindled a passion of lifting weights, and loved watching old school bodybuilders on youtube like Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler.

Brian is survived by his son, Brayden (Hazel), his brothers Jeff (Tania) and Mike (Jenny) and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Progressive Baptist Church, 1302 E 12th St. Davenport, IA on Wednesday January 25 at 10AM with a funeral service following at 11AM. A family friendly celebration of life will be held at Kilkenny's Irish Pub, 300 W 3rd St in Davenport, IA from 5pm-10pm on Wednesday January 25th. An adult celebration event will be held on January 26th at Eleven17 from 8PM to 2AM located at 1113 E Mound St. Davenport, IA.
