Charles Alexander, 84, of Aledo, Illinois, passed away at Genesis Medical Center – East Rusholme Campus, on September 11, 2021, with his family at his side. Cremation rites have been accorded per his wishes. There will be a memorial service at The Aledo United Methodist Church Saturday, September 18, at 11:00 am. A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the family.
Charles Ray Alexander was born in Industry, IL, on August 6, 1937, to John Sanford Alexander and Jessie Edith Kelly. He first married Verlee Ludwig, and later married Constance R. Willers on December 22, 1973, in Walcott, Iowa. He worked for 40 years at Oscar Mayer, retiring in 1995. Chuck was a member of the Aledo United Methodist Church. Chuck loved spending time with his family and had a love of horses. He especially loved watching his Grandson Grant ride as well as watching him follow his dreams. He also loved attending Rockridge High School sporting events with his sons, playing cards and bingo.
He is survived by his wife Connie, sons, Karl, Rock Island, Kevin (Peggy), Taylor Ridge, Kurt (Heather), Bettendorf, Bob French (Linda), Taylor Ridge, and Eric (Erica) Rio. He had one daughter Kim, Rockford; grandchildren; Dalton, Grant, Kim, Kevin Jr., Jack III, Alecia, Jessica, and Tiffany; brother Wayne (LauraJane) Cooperstown, New York, and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Joe, and Donald, sisters Francis and Mary, and a grandson Jeff.
