Connie Wickman passed away on April 3, 2024, at the age of 82, at Genesis East Hospital, Davenport, Iowa.
Connie Jean Honts was born on October 17, 1941, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Kermit and Nellie Honts. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Allens Grove Cemetery, Donahue, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Connie attended Muscatine community schools, married Richard Shafer, and later welcomed son Al in 1962. She later married Ed Wickman in 1965, and they enjoyed traveling the US in their Winnebago and their homes along the Wapsi River in Donahue. She later reconnected with her first love, Ken, and they enjoyed their final days together.
Connie enjoyed working for Woolworths and the Crescent Bakery and later helped Ed in his business. She also enjoyed watching her birds and squirrels, playing computer games, and watching the Chicago Cubs.
Preceding Connie in her death are her parents, husbands, and grandchildren, Hannah and Landon Houk. She is survived by a son, Allen (Pauline) Shafer of Blue Grass, Iowa; Grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) Houk of Davenport, Iowa, Zack (Mary Lou) Shafer of Morley, lowa, and Samantha (Charles) Winter of Crestview, Florida and nine great-grandchildren.
