Dalton Eugene Jones, born on January 4, 1963, in Waverly, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on January 29, 2025, with his beloved sister by his side. He will be deeply missed by those who cherished his vibrant spirit and kindness.

Dalton was a devoted laborer whose career spanned various roles, including his work for The Rock Island Lines railroad and in construction across several states, including Illinois, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. His artistic talent shone brightly as he became a phenomenal tattoo artist, leaving a mark not just on skin but in the hearts of those he connected with through his art.

An alumnus of Rend Lake College, Dalton earned a Horticulture Degree and held an Ordained Minister License, showcasing his commitment to both nature and community. He poured his love into many aspects of life, notably hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for friends and individuals without family, transforming these holidays into cherished moments of togetherness and joy.

Dalton's warm personality was underscored by a remarkable sense of humor and an innate ability to connect with anyone he met. He was known for going out of his way to help others, often putting their needs before his own. His family was always his top priority, and he took delight in spending time outdoors—fishing, camping, and exploring the serenity of woods. He also had an affinity for antiques and vintage items, finding beauty in the history they represented.

He is survived by his brother, David W. Jones of Waverly, TN; sister, Teresa (Brad) Merrill of Moline, IL; daughter, Felicia Phillips of Gainesville, GA; and his beloved grandchildren: Shelby, Dayton, Alice, and Peyton. He was fondly remembered by his nephews, David W. Jones II, Shane Blair, and Joe Sabaski, as well as his nieces Jennifer (Chad) Dennison and Stefanie Sabaski (Jesse Webb). Dalton's legacy extends to three great-nieces and two great-nephews, and two special friends, Bill and Rita Merrill and Kathy Shannon, all of whom carry a piece of him in their hearts.

Dalton was preceded in death by his father, Buford Jones; mother, Vivian Schleeter; his infant daughter, Jeannie Jones; and his niece, Jessica Jones. Their memories live on with him, forever intertwined in the fabric of his loving nature.

As we remember Dalton Eugene Jones, let us celebrate a life that was a mosaic of love, laughter, and unwavering support for others. His compassionate spirit and joy for life will remain in the stories shared and the lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life is to be held at a later date.

The family would like to give a special thank you to his wonderful caregiver, Heather Wages.
