Daniel Thomas Martinez, 60, of Davenport, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, November 3rd, 2022.
Daniel was born on April 20th, 1962, to Paul and Lupe Martinez.
Danny loved the Quad City area where he grew up, always “Cruising the Ones” in downtown Davenport like it never went out of style. Most of his youth was dedicated towards the family business at The Martinez Taco House, where he learned his gift of gab and hustle for life. Danny loved playing the drums, socializing at local restaurants, and shooting pool. He also loved hunting for deals, but his favorite hustle in life was to make others laugh at any cost. Danny truly enjoyed life to the fullest and he wanted others to enjoy it as well.
During Danny’s later years, you could spot him grabbing a donut at Tommy’s, driving around town with his dogs, and greeting everyone at The Center while serving as part of their ministry. However, if you took too long to catch up, you could expect his catchphrases “K-Bye!” or “Story Time!” as he walked off to make you laugh. He was quick with the punch lines and kept you on your toes with everything you said. One thing for sure, Danny kept things simple with a big heart. He made an enormous impact everywhere he went, and his stories and jokes will forever live on.
Danny is survived by his wife, Pamela; his sisters, Joann (Steve) Venghaus, Linda (Mike) Clark, and Julie (Anthony) Scott; his brothers, Paul (Mary Jo) Martinez II and Stephen Edwards; his children, Daniel (Sharlene) Martinez Jr., David Benson, Brandon Wilson, and Brianna Wilson; his grandson, Daniel Martinez III; and his two dogs, Mia and Red. The Center will host a memorial service on November 19th at 11:00AM to celebrate Danny’s impact on our lives.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolonces on his Memory Page.
