Danny Perkins

Danny Ray Perkins, 70, formerly of Lake Wales, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, February 16, 2025, in Davenport, IA. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.  We ask that you remember Danny for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.  Those who knew Danny will remember him for his infectious smile and overwhelming laughter.  Danny was inviting and easy going.  He had a young at heart quality about him. Danny could tell a story like no other, keeping you up all night laughing until it hurt. 

 Danny lived a full life for his sons, family, friends, fishing and rock-n-roll.

Danny was born January 31,1955 to Maurice Lenwood Perkins, Sr. and Juanita Lodge Perkins.  After graduating from Kathleen Sr. High School, Danny was employed several years by Publix Bakery in Lakeland, Fl. where he met his dear wife Sharon.  He was then employed by CREC of Lake Alfred, FL through the University of Florida, hence becoming a Gator Fan.                                                                        

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sharon Marie (Barrett) Perkins, Father, Maurice Lenwood Perkins, Sr. , Great Nephew, Schoen Perkins, and Great Nieces, Lynleigh Grace, Brittany Frantz

Danny is survived by his Mother; Juanita Lodge Perkins, two brothers; "Len" Maurice L. Perkins (Regina), "Jerry" Gerald D. Perkins,       one sister; Marcia Johnston (LeRoy) all of Cairo, GA. Two Sons; Cory Perkins (Jessica) of Lakeland, FL, John Hazelwood (Michele) of Davenport, IA, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; Adam Hudson, Jesse Hudson, Ashton Hudson, Oaklynn Hudson of Lakeland, Christopher (Bethany) Hazelwood, Emilia, Atticus of Fenton IL, Brittany (Clayton) Staley, Hunter Martin, Luke, Lily Decker, Axel Staley of Odin, IL, Trevor (Jessica) Balduf, Tyler, James, and Sophia of Davenport, IA, Brandon (Kaitlin) Hazelwood of Davenport, IA, Zaiden Fenell of Davenport, IA. Nephews and Nieces; Shawn Perkins, Ashley Schnier, Avery, Cody, Darby, Brady, Rhonda Taylor, Anita Perkins, Candice Perkins, Haley Perkins, Kylee Belflowers, Addison, Brinley, Courtney Hembree, Taylor, Brooke Merkison, Madison Hawkins, Kelly Hatcher, Layton, Khloe, Heather Barrett, Rachel Rewis, Bentley Rewis.

Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, IL.
