Dawn Ellen Scott

Dawn Scott, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on July 21, 1964, in Davenport, Iowa, Dawn was a lifelong resident of Buffalo, IA. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. on June 22, 2024, at 9727 Devils Creek Road, Blue Grass, IA 52726.

Dawn was the cherished wife of Joe Scott, with whom she shared a beautiful life. Together, they created a blended family that was a testament to her capacity for love and acceptance. She was a devoted mother to Collin and Seth Scott and a loving stepmother to Ty Scott and his wife Katie, as well as Lea Thomas and her husband Eric. Dawn's role as a mother was one she cherished deeply. Her memory will be cherished by her special friend, Susan Fuller of Michigan.

Born to Stan and Bonnie Cooley, Dawn was a beloved sister to Michelle Maere and her husband Curtis, as well as Cameron Cooley.

Dawn's pride and joy were her grandchildren, Nick, Ian, and Joey Thomas, along with Lexi Scott and great-grandchild, Luca Thomas. Nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by their laughter and love.

Dawn's interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Her love for cooking was more than a hobby; it was her way of expressing care and affection for her family. The kitchen was her domain, a place where she conjured up not just meals, but memories that her family will treasure forever. Her grandchildren, in particular, will always remember the warmth and delicious aromas that greeted them whenever they entered her home.

Dawn was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Wynoka Awbrey and her Special Aunt Linda Awbrey.

There will be a Celebration of Life planned for the Summer.
