It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of your mother, your grandmother, our sister, and your aunt Delores Washington on July 11, 2024, at the age of 77 years old.
Delores Washington was born on December 8, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Edward Delano Washington and Mary Hayes Washington. Delores Washington was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Washington, her guardian mother Corinne Hoard (Mother Hoard) and a brother, Ralph Washington.
In her union with Nathaniel Parker Jr., Delores had one child, Edward Delano Washington and in her union with George W Flagg, Delores had another child, Corinna Cormella Washington. In her lifetime, Delores worked several short and long-term jobs, retiring as a home care provider in Chicago, Illinois.
Delores had a very strong faith in God and believed in the power of prayer. Delores was a very spiritual-minded person with a knack for personal storytelling and dream interpretations. Delores was a people person who made friends quickly and was well-liked by her community of friends.
Delores is survived by her two children, Edward and Corinna Washington, and eleven siblings: Louise Washington, Wilverlyn Rushdan, Edward Washington, Henry Washington, Sandra Washington, Virginia Washington, Lewis Washington, Janice Washington, Jacqueline Brooks, Lettie Washington, and Anthony Garrett. Eight Grandchildren Edward Jutu Washington, Adham Hassan Washington, Jutu Hassan Washington Frank Harris Jr., William Ordeal Caisson III, Aerial Jeanette Caisson, Ralph Supreme Stewart and Rodrick Solomon Stewart.
It is Delores Washington’s wishes to be cremated and not have any memorial services.
