Douglas Charles Hobert, 87, of Moline, passed away Monday May 23, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Douglas was born August 26, 1934, the son of Ruby Anna (Chamberlain) and Walter Carl Hobert in Charles City, IA.
He married Jane G. Hammer June 28, 1952 in Charles City, IA. He later married Celeste R. Bell on Oct 27, 1979 in Moline, IL.
Douglas lived and worked in Denver, CO for several years working for Holland Furnace and later his own business Clean Air. He relocated to the Quad Cities in 1966 working for Modern Heating until he opened his own commercial construction company, Midwest Consolidated, in 1972 building and remodeling restaurants around the country. He retired in 2009.
Douglas enjoyed time with family and friends, but his passion was his grandkids.
In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and a private funeral service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Rock Island at a later date.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years Celeste, children Kim (Bob) Jones, Redmond, WA, Jacquelynn Bennett, Waterloo, IA, Shanna (Billy) Henao, Moline, IL, Dustin (Laryn) Hobert, Rock Island, IL; grandchildren Shannon Ballentine, Alan Jones and Tara Jones all of WA, Damian and Roxanne Hobert, both of Milan, IL, Jackson, Everett, Georgiana and Grayson Smith all of Moline, IL, Zeppelin and Maximus Hobert both of Rock Island, IL great grandchildren, Jaydon, Riley, Lincoln and Ellie all of WA, and his siblings Thomas (Bonne) Hobert of Moline, IL, Dan (Linda) Hobert of Anchorage, AK, Cheryl Ohrberg, Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Hobert, daughter Nancy Hobert and son Damian C. Hobert.
