Elia was the beloved wife of James D. Richmond, whom she married on April 17, 1967. Their love story spanned over five decades, filled with laughter, shared dreams, and the creation of a beautiful family. Elia's legacy continues through her children, Annette Koehler (Tim), James G. Richmond (Gloria), Albert G. Richmond, and Lilia Richmond (Mario). Her grandchildren, Bryan (Karina), Albert (Samantha), Robyn (Madison), Adrian, Steven, Mary Ellen (Erendy), Kimberly, Irene, Julia, and Michelle, along with her great-grandchildren Dominic, Gabriel, Samuel, Enzo Leo, Everly, and Danielle, will always remember her for her unwavering love and kindness. She is also survived by her siblings, Julia Galvez, Oscar Galvez, Manuel Galvez, and Maria (Cuca) Galvez, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Eliazar & Maria Galvez, and her siblings, Leonor, Eliazar, Juanita, and Fernando.
Elia dedicated her life to raising her family and serving her community. She was always there, ready to lend a helping hand, whether it was at her local church, the PTA, or as a team mom. Her commitment to community service was a shining example of her generous spirit and her belief in the power of unity and cooperation.
Elia's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. She loved reading Vanidadaves magazine in her spare time, immersing herself in the world of literature and developing a deep love for words and stories. Her love for travel took her to many places, but she always found time to enjoy a cup of coffee with her friends, creating memories that will forever be cherished. Family events were a joy for Elia, and she ensured everyone had a slice of cake and a good time. She loved dancing, whether it was to rock-n-roll or a popular cumbia, her infectious joy on the dance floor would fill the room with laughter and happiness.
