Erik Olson

January 15, 1969 — January 30, 2024

Erik Michael Olson, 55, of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Monday, January 30th, at home, surrounded by his loving family following a year-long battle with cancer.

A celebration of his life is planned for this summer. In lieu of flowers, if so inclined, Erik requested that you either donate to LeClaire Fire Department or the family directly.

Erik was born on January 15, 1969, the son of Robert and Lois (Wade) Olson. He was a graduate of Moline High School and Northern Illinois University. He enjoyed a long career as an IT consultant and sales executive making lifelong friends of many of his colleagues.

He was an avid CrossFit enthusiast, loved to travel, and proudly volunteered for the LeClaire Fire Department. He was grateful for the visits, memories shared, and favorite foods sent by his many friends as he fought his brave battle.

His absolute pride and joy were his three children. His daughter Rowan was lovingly by his side throughout his illness and his daughter Devon came to assist in his care in his final months. He and his son Cooper spent their days together sharing stories over his winter break from the University of Alabama and Erik was comforted in his final days watching and listening to Cooper play guitar.

Those left to honor his memory include his children Devon (David Kraemer) of Pittsburgh, PA, Rowan (Andrew Young) of Bettendorf, and Cooper, his parents of Moline, IL, and his brother Dave (Deb) Olson of Taylorsville, NC.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and express online condolences on his Memory Page at mvcremation.com
