In Loving Memory of Florence Quinones Vera

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Florence Quinones Vera, age 92, of Moline, IL. She passed peacefully on Friday, October 25th, 2024, at the home of her daughter Rebecca Johnson, surrounded by her family, whose lives were endlessly enriched by her warmth, grace, and unwavering love.

Born on December 17th, 1931, in Moline, IL. Florence was a beacon of kindness and compassion throughout her life. She was devoted to her family and friends, always putting others’ needs before her own, with a genuine smile that lifted spirits around her. Her generosity was boundless, touching the hearts of everyone she met.

A devout Catholic, Florence believed “the Lord was her medicine.” She had an unbreakable faith and believed in living a life filled with purpose and joy. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.

She leaves behind nine children: Patty Briggs Teel, Jackie Briggs Hudson, Jerry Briggs, Carol Briggs Masias, Mark E. Briggs, Kevin Briggs, Rebecca Briggs Johnson, Jessica Briggs Tyndal, Tammy Briggs, 35 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her, yet the values she instilled and her love remain steadfast in our hearts.

A private service was held where over 60 children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gathered to celebrate in honor of her remarkable life.
