Friedrich Koch

June 14, 1935 — November 27, 2024

June 14th, 1935 – November 27th, 2024

Fritz Koch, 89, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on November 27, 2024, at the Carrissa C. Cook Hospice Home in Bettendorf, Iowa, peacefully with his family by his side. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life event will take place in the spring of 2025 in the Davenport area.

Fritz was born in Aurich, Germany, and came to the United States in 1958. He married Foline Niebuhr in 1958 and had two sons, Fred and Klaus, who were raised in the Davenport area. Fritz and Foline just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this past year.

Fritz worked for John Deere in Davenport and retired in 1996. He was a welder and proud member of the United Automobile Aerospace and Agricultural Workers of America UAW Local 281. Fritz spent his retirement doing what he enjoyed most: being outdoors, hiking, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, sitting on the back porch watching the wildlife, and following multiple soccer teams from around the world.

Fritz is survived by his wife, Foline; his two sons, Fred and (spouse) Mary Koch of Mesa, Arizona; Klaus Koch of Western Springs, Illinois; and grandchildren, Gunner Koch, Bridget Koch, and McKenna Koch.

Fritz was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Maribeth Koch.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the love and care received from the nurses and staff at the Carrissa C. Cook Hospice Home and Genesis Hospice Care.
