Glenda Scott, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2024, at the age of 71.
Born on September 4, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa, to the late Hanford and Lois Shelton Dobbs, Glenda's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and unwavering faith. Glenda's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her passion for teaching at Christian School, and her love for Christ. She later embraced the role of a homemaker and farming cattle. Her work reflected her commitment to nurturing not only her own family but also the minds and spirits of those she taught.
Those who knew Glenda will fondly remember her exploring yard sales and thrift stores with her sister. She had an eye for treasures and could always find something special in the most unexpected places. Glenda's love for cooking was another of her many talents, and her kitchen was the heart of her home, where both meals and memories were made. Family gatherings were the highlight of Glenda's life. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her loved ones, her laughter and warmth filling the room. Glenda's faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and her deepest desire was for everyone she knew to experience the same love and salvation she found in Jesus Christ. Glenda's legacy lives on through her loving family.
She is survived by her children: Nasha of Davenport, IA; Timothy II (Heidi) of Norwood, MO; and Jacob Lee (Misty) of Rogersville, MO. She was a proud mother-in-law to Missy of Mt. Grove, MO. Grove, MO. Her great-grandchildren, Evie, Myra, Vivian, Maverik of Cullman, AL, and Odin of Stockbridge, GA, brought her immeasurable happiness. She also leaves behind her sister, Kim Dobbs of Buffalo, IA, and her brother, David C. Dobbs of Horseshoe Bend, AR.

Her life was enriched by many special nieces, nephews, and a circle of friends who will dearly miss her presence. Glenda's journey was one of faith, family, and friendship. Her influence and the love she shared will continue to be felt by all who were blessed to know her. She faced life's challenges with grace and left behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be cherished by her family and all who knew her.
As we say goodbye to Glenda, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her, and resting in the arms of her Savior. Her memory will be held in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will live on in the lessons she taught and the love she gave.
