Jack Gibbs

February 29, 1960 — April 15, 2024

Jack Gibbs Jr., affectionately known as Jack by his friends and family, passed away on April 15th, 2024, in Davenport, Iowa, due to natural causes. Born on February 29, 1960, in Suffolk, Virginia, Jack's leap year birthday was a source of amusement and celebration throughout his life.

Jack was a man who personified the words loving, funny, and thoughtful in every aspect of his existence. His infectious laughter and keen sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him. He approached life with compassion and consideration, qualities that made him beloved by many.

Though he was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Goodin, his father Jack Gibbs, and his stepfather Vince Goodin, Jack's legacy lives on through his cherished family. He was a devoted father to his three daughters, Kristen Lobe of Port St. Lucie, Fl., Victoria Gibbs of Adel, GA., and Megan Wolfe of Nashville, GA. The joy of his life was his six grandchildren, whose adventures and achievements filled him with immense pride. Jack's spirit is also carried forward by his three sisters, Rhonda Gibbs of Vero Beach, Fl., Sharon Stoeckel of Fredericksburg, VA., and Lisa Steele (Wendell Steele) of Ft. Pierce, FL., who remember him with deep affection and countless fond memories.

A graduate of High School, Jack's entrepreneurial spirit led him to become a respected business owner. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to the relationships he built through his professional endeavors. He was an active member of the business community, where his genuine nature and reliable character earned him the respect and friendship of his colleagues and associates.

Outside of his professional life, Jack was an enthusiast of life's simple pleasures. Dancing was one of Jack's passions; he could often be found twirling on the dance floor to his favorite country music tunes, a testament to his joyous approach to life and his ability to make any moment a celebration.

Jack's love for country music was more than just a hobby; it was the soundtrack to his life. He embraced the storytelling and the heartfelt melodies, and it was not uncommon for him to share this love with his friends and family, creating memories and a bond that transcended generations.

In his personal life, Jack was a pillar of strength and a source of laughter. His guidance, support, and unwavering love for his family defined him as a father, brother, grandfather, and friend. His thoughtfulness was evident in the way he remembered special occasions, the care he took in listening to others, and his ability to make everyone around him feel valued.

As we mourn the loss of Jack, we also celebrate a life well-lived a life filled with love, laughter, and moments that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Jack Gibbs Jr. will be deeply missed, but his warmth, kindness, and zest for life will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends for generations.

The world was indeed a brighter place with Jack in it, and his departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. Yet, his spirit remains a guiding light- a remember to embrace every day with love, humor, and kindness, just as he did.
