Jamie Elizabeth Stacey-Koeppel, known affectionately to all as Jamie, the life of every party and the soul of generosity, lost her battle to an extended illness on January 8, 2024. She was born March 20, 1982, in Liverpool, Ohio. Jamie danced through 41 years of life, spreading laughter and love until her departure in Davenport IA.
Jamie was the kind of person who could strike up a conversation in empty room and leave with a dozen new friends. Her career in food and beverage industry was marked by her kind smile and uncanny ability to remember what you drink. She truly never met a stranger. Jamie was the reigning Quad Cities Bartender of the year, an accolade she earned not just for her mixing skills but for her philosophy that the bar was her stage.
Those left to carry on her legacy of laughter and love are her children, Isaac Stacey of Davenport IA, Victoria “Tori” Fausey of Moundsville, WV and Ayden Stacey of Des Moines, IA; grandson, Koen Martinez of WV; father, Carl Stacey of Tenino WA; sister Nichole (Eric) Pitts of Tenino WA , brother, Carl Stacey of Iowa City IA, several nieces and nephews, one great niece; grandparents, Darlene and Jim Curran; aunts, Kelly Curran, Linda Boyle, Debra Gresh and Mary Tanner, uncles, Joseph Curran, Dale Stacey, Michael Stacey and Tom Stacey.
Jamie was a woman who never believed in goodbye, only in see you later. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Curran, aunts Diane Jackson and Darlene Stacey and friend, Melvin Schmidt.
Her life was a testament to living fully and loving fiercely. Jamie embraced the outdoors whether it was motorcycle rides with hair as her flag of freedom, boating, or simply basking in the glow of a fire with friends and family, that when she was in her element. Jamie believed that a good party was cure for all and loved the beach (that good ole Mississippi). She also loved dancing like no one was watching and singing (badly) at the top of her lungs.
Jamie’s tribe extended beyond bloodlines and included her lifelong best friends Sally Cerra, Rebekah Berrey, and Nikky Anderson, sisters of the heart. Also, two bonus moms, Sue Schmidt and Karen Kuehl.
In a world that too often forgets to smile, Jamie was a reminder that life is a celebration. She may have exited stage left, but the echo of her encore that plays on in the hearts of those who loved her. Cheers to you Jamie; you were one of a kind. Cremation rites will be accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined.
