Jane Elizabeth Woeckener, known affectionately by all as Jane, passed away peacefully in her home on September 18, 2023, in Muscatine, IA. Born on June 8, 1963, in Rock Island, IL, Jane was a friendly, funny, and spirited woman who left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She was 60 years old.
Jane attended Rock Island High School and Alleman High School. After earning her GED, she entered the blue collar work force, where her hard work and dedication shone through. She was a woman known for her tenacity and determination, qualities she applied to every aspect of her life, from her professional career to her personal interests.
Beyond her work, Jane was most known for her love of the outdoors. She was an avid fisherwoman and camper, and she spent countless hours tending to her yard. Her appreciation for nature was only matched by her love for live music. Jane could always be found outside, basking in the sun or marveling at the stars.
Jane's love for all living things extended to her beloved cats: Phineas, Binx, Tinsel, and Sage. Her home was a sanctuary for these feline friends, and her devotion to them was a testament to her kind and nurturing spirit. Jane's love for her cats was a reflection of her generous heart, one that found joy in giving love and care to those around her.
Jane was predeceased by her husband, Tony Woeckener, with whom she shared many happy years. She is survived by her son, Timothy J. Vick, brother Bart Jacobs with life partner Patty Carter, and former step-daughters Amber and Ashley Vick. Jane's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her loss will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
Jane's life was a tapestry of simple pleasures and profound love. She found joy in the everyday and taught those around her to do the same. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit was indomitable, and her heart was as expansive as the great outdoors she so loved. Jane's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness and warmth.
Through her love for the outdoors, her passion for music, and her affinity for her cats, Jane taught us to appreciate the beauty in life's simplest moments. She showed us the joy that comes from nurturing relationships, whether with family, friends, or furry companions. And through her unwavering spirit, she reminded us of the strength that lies within each of us.
In honor of Jane's life, we remember not just her passing, but the remarkable woman she was. We remember her laughter, her spirit, and her love.
