Jan (Woeller) Graaff

May 14, 1936 – April 12, 2025

Jan was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to Ollie Hines Schuh. After Ollie passed in 1939, Jan was taken in and raised with love by “Mom Woeller”, Mary. She attended and graduated from Davenport Central High School, where she met the love of her life, Andy Graaff, and went on to become a Radiology Technician.

Andy and Jan were married on June 30, 1956, and were blessed with three children, Cheryl, Maribeth, and Jolene. They had quite the following of friends and enjoyed bowling, socializing at pubs, and traveling with their children and numerous family members. A great time was always had by all.

Jan passed peacefully at home surrounded by those that she loved.

Jan was an avid Quad City Mallards and Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed attending events at Circa 21.

Jan lived life to the fullest and was known for her random acts of kindness. One day at lunch, she noticed a young soldier eating alone and literally jumped onto the bench to join him. Before we knew it, they were posing and smiling for pictures together. If you were lucky enough to be touched by her friendship and love, you were truly blessed. While she loved her three daughters immensely, her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought her so much joy! Her and Andy hosted many parties for the kids and were willing participants in food and water balloon fights. There was not a person Jan met that was not immediately a” new friend “.

Jan will be missed beyond measure. Her life was a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and kindness. Rest easy is not appropriate, as she did that quite a bit in the last few months. Instead, we say “raise the roof” and ask that those she loved most carry on where she left off. We are so blessed to call Jan “ours” and are grateful for such amazing memories!

Keep watching over us and feel our love. Until we meet again…

Jan is survived by Maribeth “Mib” (Larry) Elverd, Princeton, Iowa, Jolene Bowers (Pete St. Lawrence) Colorado Springs, Colorado, Son-in-law, Leroy Saddoris (Desiree Saddoris), Aledo, Illinois, Grandchildren, Travis (Heather) Eastin, Mediapolis, Iowa, Andrea “Annie” Eastin (Holly Kay), Bettendorf, Iowa, Phillip, Luke, and Randy Bowers, Bettendorf, Iowa, Jesse Elverd (Teena) and Tony Elverd (Kate Stalder) Eldridge, Iowa. Jan also had 7 Great-grandchildren and 2 Great-great grandchildren, Sisters, Grace (Louis) Wilcox, Quad Cities, Judy (Vern) Lloyd, Dick Wales (Joan), along with many nieces and nephews, both biological and claimed.
