Jerry D. Myers, 81, of Colona, IL, passed away on November 14, 2024, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL. Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, Moline, IL.
Our hearts are mourning the loss of our beloved Jerry Myers. He is the youngest of Zola Mae Huggins (Carney) and Milfred Leon Myers’s 10 children and the final sibling to leave us. Jerry leaves behind a multitude of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many more beloved family members, chosen family members, and friends.
Jerry was a wonderful man; all who truly knew him knew his great compassion, great love, and sense of humor. He was kind, generous, and giving. He loved the Lord and his family above all else. As many know, he enjoyed woodworking and loved offering his pieces to others as both a hobby and a craft business. He once stated, "I made 500 of these phone holders and sold them for $5, but I haven't made a penny." that is because he gave them all away. He loved talking about his craft. He was a hard-working man and took great pride in his craftsmanship. After retirement he built a log cabin for him and his wife Nell, it was a labor of love and truly beautiful. Jerry spent his time doing woodworking, playing cards, and being ornery with laughter. He made the wood products, and his wife, Nell, painted them. They showed their love by giving gifts and feeding people with love.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on his Memory Page at mvcremation.com.
