Jesyca Nelson

Jesyca Renae Nelson, née Willis, of Rock Island, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Unity Point, Rock Island, surrounded by her family.

Cremation rights have been accorded per her wishes. A private ceremony of interment will be held at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW Hall, post 8890 in East Moline, IL, on Friday January 20, 2023, @ 6:00 pm.

Jesyca was born on January 9, 1985, the daughter of Greg Willis and Catherine Prieto Long. She was previously married to Broc Nelson of Davenport, IA. She graduated from United Township High School. After exploring many different trades, she completed an apprenticeship to become a journeyman electrician with IBEW Local 145. She established Food Not Bombs of the Quad Cities to provide food the needy. She enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States.

She is survived by her mother and dad Catherine and David Long of Moline; brothers, Damian Prieto of Moline, Julian Brown of Los Angeles, CA, Ryan Long (Diana Gilbert) of Davenport; sisters, Melissa Gorham (Shaine) of Selah, WA and Nickole End (Brian) of LaGrand, OR, and her beloved dog, Sprocket.

She was preceded in death by her father, Greg, her grandparents, sister Nicole Willis and godmother, Dannette Simpson.
