Joe Flynn, 67, of DeWitt, died Sunday January 28th 2024, at home.
Joseph Paul Flynn was born March 31, 1956 in Davenport to Lawrence George and Lucille (Ihrig) Flynn. Joe worked construction jobs and for Liqui-Grow for many years.
Joe married Annette Hopkins in 1973, and they have a daughter, Jennifer. In 1978, he married Lisa Cavey and in that union they had three sons, Joseph, Alex, and Elliot.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, watching the Cardinals play, and having a plethora of beers with his friends while exercising his quirky sense of humor.
Survivors include his very special friend Kathy Shipler; children Jennifer DeSha (Jerry) of Davenport, Joseph R. Flynn of DeWitt, and Alex L. Flynn (Dana) of Wheatland. Grandchildren are; Jeremy DeSha, Josie DeSha, Lawrence, Landon, and Lawson Flynn. Siblings are; Connie Justice of Rock Island, Suzanne McCutcheon and Rita Roberts both from Bettendorf and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, a son Elliot, his daughter-in-law Jessica, a brother Ron, three brothers-in-law John Justice, Jack McCutcheon, and Lee Roberts.
Cremations rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held March 30th, 2024, at the DeWitt Legion Post 238 from 2pm to 5pm.
