Karen Kelley

Karen Kelley, 82, of Silvis, Illinois, passed away on February 6, 2025. Per her wishes, a cremation will be done and a Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 12th. Visitation 3:30-6:30 PM, Memorial Service beginning at 6:30 PM at Faith Walk World Outreach Center 1450 Avenue of the Cities, Silvis, Illinois.

Karen was born on December 21st, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up, Karen enjoyed being a part of a large family including six siblings. Karen married Verle Kelley (Mickey) on March 7th, 1961. They had three children, Keith (Karen) Kelley Hillsdale, Donna (Jason) Thurman Silvis, and William West Kelley (preceded in death ).

Karen loved being in the sunshine outdoors and being with her family. She worked at Ben Franklin Crafts in Silvis for over 30 years, during which time she developed many cherished friendships. Karen was an enthusiastic Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. You could often hear her screaming at the TV during the games. Even more so, she was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was truly a strong, strong woman who loved her family.

Karen is survived by her children and seven grandchildren: Heather Engle (James), Keith Kelley (Amanda), Brian and Raymond Kelley, Rachel Kelley-Misner (Ben), Jace and Reed Thurman. Karen also had 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Ronald Zelasko, sisters Donna Zelasko and Aimee Markham and son William Kelley.
