Karla J. (Lawrence) Alender, 58, of Prophetstown, passed away early in the morning on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood, Illinois.
Karla was was born on September 20, 1963 in Morrison, IL. to Robert L. and Mary K. (Cocking) Lawrence.
She graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1981 and married Robert A. Alender on December 30, 1982.
She worked for almost thirty years in the healthcare field at Good Samaritan Rest Home in Prophetstown. She enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband Robert (Al), two daughters, Jessica (John) Geanerris of Arlington, Massachusetts, Katie (Brandon) Fisk of Prophetstown; son, Rob Alender of Prophetstown. Two brothers, David (Crystal) of Freeport, and Mike (Pam) of Prophetstown; two sisters, Shellie (Steve) Mortonson of Rock Falls and Katrina Despain of Prophetstown. Grandchildren; Penelope, Vivian, Dean, Chloe, Levi, and Fiona.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private celebration of life with family and friends will be held at a later date per Karla’s wishes.
