Kathleen Murphy

Kathleen Murphy, age 69 , of Moline, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 14th, 2021, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care, Rock Island, IL . Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private service and Inurnment will take place at a later date.

She was the daughter of Delbert and Ruth (Schilling) Murphy. She graduated from Moline High School and attended Black Hawk College. Kathleen was a talented baker and cake decorator; she started baking cakes and cookies out of her home and then worked many years in the bakery departments for Walmart, Davenport, and most recently for Jewel in Moline. Kathleen had many talents and joys which included sewing, needlework, painting ceramics and playing board games. As an avid baker, she loved baking cookies and decorating for the holidays, as well as spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include her sister, Ann Black, Moline, Nephews Joe Black, Kyle (Jasmine) Murphy, Nieces, Kaidyn Murphy, Katie Murphy and Kayle Murphy along with Uncles, cousins and numerous long time friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Tim Murphy and his wife Julie Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, and gifts, memorials may be made to her family, Ann Black, to help pay for medical and funeral expenses via Mississippi Valley Cremation and Direct Burial, 1811 15th St Pl, Moline, IL 61265.
