Keith Robert Maher, 63, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022, after suffering a sudden massive stroke at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Memorials may be made to the family.
Keith was born July 9, 1958, in Rock island, IL, to Robert and Beverly (Johnson) Maher. He married the love of his life and soulmate Cindi Wiedenhoeft Anderson on July 1, 1996, who survives.
He graduated from Moline High School, class of 1976. Keith worked as a carpenter in construction and was no longer able to work due to an illness in 2009.
Keith was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa; his family was his life and he had a special bond with his son, Marc. He loved to garden, fish, and was a die-hard Cub's fan who loved to hang out in his garage.
Most importantly, he was an organ donor. We have comfort in knowing Keith's organs helped save several lives.
In addition to his beloved wife, survivors include his children: Ryan Maher, Matt (Breanne) Anderson of Coal Valley, IL, Michael Anderson, and Marc Anderson both of Rock Island, IL; grandchildren: Gabriel, Esme, Brynn, Bennet, Remy, Seren, and Sawyer; sister, Karen (Kurt) Heinzel; brother-in-law, Brian (Chris)Wiedenhoeft; several aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece, and nephews. He also leaves behind his faithful companion Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Keith would love for everyone to have a beer in his honor.
