Kelly Cook

Kelly Anne (Meier) Cook passed away peacefully February 19, 2025 at her sister’s home in Walcott, IA surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Kelly, along with her twin sister, was born on August 8, 1967, at Morrison Community Hospital to Frank and Patricia (Pat) Van Hamme Meier.

Kelly graduated from Erie High School in 1985. She then went on to graduate from Robert Morris College, Carthage IL in 1986. She also took several classes at Kirkwood Community College and Scott Community College, working toward her degree in Business Administration.

She married Robert McKay in 1987, and together they had a daughter, Jen. She then married Brent Fecht in 1995, and together they had two sons, John Daniel (JD) and Ryan. She married the love of her life, Christopher Cook on March 12, 2014.

The greatest joys in Kelly’s life were spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling (especially to the beach), gardening and going to the casinos.

Those left to honor her memories are her father, Frank Meier; twin sister, Theresa (Dirk) Rockhold; daughter, Jen (Jerod) Andrews; sons, John Fecht and Ryan (fiancé Kelly Wilharm) Fecht; stepson Zachary (fiancé Richelle Kime) Cook; grandchildren Noah McKay, Beau Hewitt, Hunter Andrews and Grace McKay.

She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, maternal and paternal grandparents.
