Lester (Les) Vern Peters Jr, 75, of Calamus, IA, passed away May 4, 2023, at Genesis East, Davenport. IA.
Les is the son of Lester and Alice Peters Sr. He graduated in 1966, from Calamus, IA. He then went to work for Brammer Manufacturing in Davenport, until he was Drafted into the Army. He fought in the Vietnam War, and he received a Bronze Star Medal. After his discharge he went back to work at Brammer's, and later went to work for Magnaflux, in DeWitt until he retired.
He married Sandra Steffens on December 22,1967, and they had a daughter, Lori. They later divorced and he married Diana Imming and they later divorced.
Les is survived by his daughter Lori (Mark) Johansen, of Calamus, IA; his grandson Mickel, of Calamus, IA ; his granddaughter Cassie (J.J.) Schwennen and their sons CJ and Macklyn of Lisbon, IA; sisters Judy Weiss of DeWitt, IA, and Jolene (Kent) Petersen of Delmar, IA; brother Scott of DeWitt, IA; five nieces and two nephews.
Les is proceeded in death by his parents, a brother Kevin, brother-in-law Jerry Weiss and a nephew Jerry Jr.
Les did not want any services, so there will be a private family Celebration of Life at a later date.
All memorals may be made to the Calamus Vol. Fire Dept., the Wheatland Ambulance or to the family for their choice.
