Malcolm Stambaugh, 65, of Galva, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on September 4, 2024, with his wife and his dog by his side.

Malcolm was born August 16, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana to E. Bob and Betty (Baumgardner) Stambaugh. He was the 3rd child of 9 to the couple. Malcolm grew up on a farm and agriculture was always an important part of his life. Once he was able to reach the pedals and steering wheel, he was helping his dad and brothers drive trucks, tractors and combines. His love for farm machinery lasted his whole life and he passed this love onto his son and grandsons. Malcom became a dad when he was young, and he left high school to get his GED and support his family. He later received a degree from Purdue University. Being outside was one of Malcolm’s favorite things and he worked in agriculture his entire career. He was no stranger to hard work and recently retired from his job at AgView FS where he sold seed and fertilizers to farmers. He always said that his favorite part about his job was the relationships that he built.

Malcolm is survived by his wife, Cathy, of the home, his children, Bob (Sheila) Stambaugh and daughter Anecea (Chris) Stambaugh-Groth both of Lindsborg, Kansas, a daughter Brittany (Kerry) Noble of Greenville, Ohio,a daughter Brandy Murphey of Atlanta, Georgia, stepson, Tommy Hufft (Carly) of Parkville, Missouri and stepdaughter, Jessica (Jack) Curtis of Overland Park, Kansas. One of Malcolm’s greatest joys was his grandchildren and is survived by Joey (Caitlyn), Logann (Caleb), Kaylyn (Manuel), Ahnya (Noah), Myah (Ru), Trystan, Gavin, Ella, Easton, Landon, Jacob, Mallie, Emma, Cody, Austin (Adrianna), Dylan, Brody, Gentry and Grady, Alexander and Makayla. Malcolm is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his parents, E. Bob and Betty Stambaugh, Colfax, Indiana and Betty Babineau, Lebanon, Indiana. Malcolm was blessed to have 9 siblings: Debbie (Jaime), Chuck (Tammy), Ed (Melanie), Lisa (Denny), Lora (Mark), Shawn (Joe), Jimmy (Cheryl), Paula (Andy) and Travis (Polly), all of Indiana. He is also survived by stepbrothers, Todd (Amanda) and Karl (Brenda). Malcolm has a host of nieces, nephews (59 at last count), cousins and friends who survive him as well.
