Mark Larvenz

March 4, 1960 — July 24, 2023

Mark Stephen Larvenz (63) passed away peacefully at his home on July 24, 2023, with his family lovingly by his side after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born March 4, 1960, to James and Phyllis Larvenz, Mark lived a rambunctious and active young life with his six siblings, Carl, Carol, Adam, Jimmy, Diane, and David. Racing dirtbikes with his brothers led to many friends and travels in his young adulthood. Mark recently retired from a 43-year-long career at John Deere Harvester (formally The Foundry) as a CNC and laser operator.

Mark was a family man marrying his wife Julie on September 22, 2006, gaining a stepson Cameron. Cameron and Mark had an inseparable bond making many memories while doing what he loved most, being a father. Mark enjoyed go-kart and dirt bike racing with Cameron and his brothers. He also enjoyed jet skiing/boating and taking their pups swimming at the river.

Mark was a strong-willed and simple man who appreciated the small things in life; he had an enormous heart and a great sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and a brave man, who was also a big animal lover. Mark was full of knowledge gained through life's triumphs and experiences, anything from mechanics to home remodels and honey-do projects. You could count on him being there if you needed a hand with anything.

He will be remembered for all the heart and compassion that he showed to friends and family; he truly loved each of them. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and enormous amounts of love. He will be missed dearly.

Mark is survived by his wife (Julie Larvenz), Stepson Cameron VerBeke (Ashley VerBeke). Fur Kids Jasper and Diesel. Grand-Dog Willerz. His brothers Adam Larvenz, Jimmy Larvenz (Diane Larvenz), David Lind (Gwen Lind), and sister Diane Smith (Paul Smith).

Mark was preceded in death by his parents James and Phyllis Larvenz, brother Carl Larvenz, and twin sister Carol Larvenz.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Mark at his favorite restaurant Frank's Pizza, in Silvis, Illinois, on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 3:00 pm. Please share some of your favorite memories with Mark as we honor his life together. Memorial donations may be made to QC Paws at www.qcpaws.org.
