Marlene Talbot

August 26, 1948 — July 30, 2023

Born August 26, 1948, to Eloise and Jim Mackey, Marlene Talbot of Bishop Hill, IL, passed away July 30, 2023, after prolonged health issues.

She was the proud wife of Don Talbot, and mother of Angela (John) Hathaway and Tony (April) Talbot. She was grandmother to Lyndsey and Derek Heise, Xander Talbot, great grandmother to Margaret Wilhelm and sister to Norine Schnowske and Dyna Nichols.

She was preceded in death by her parents years ago and her husband in February of this year.

Marlene was a registered nurse and an EMT in her younger years. She traveled the world and lived in Alaska, Florida, Frankfurt Germany and many places in between. She lived big and packed in some incredible life experiences.

She married the love of her life, Don Talbot, in Daytona Beach. She was a fabulous seamstress and always had the best snack drawer stocked full for her grandchildren. She loved a good yard sale, “antiquing”, Frank’s Pizza, and the first sip from a cold Diet Pepsi.

While she will be greatly missed, we are confident that she is more comfortable now than on this earthly plane. We would like to imagine her and her beloved Donnie cruising around in their Lincoln Town Car, windows down with a trunk full of (slightly garish) antiques she just bargained down at a garage sale.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Royal Oaks, Kewanee for the extraordinary care and love given to Don and Marlene during their stay.

Don and Marlene requested no public services. Their final wish was to have their remains released together at Daytona Beach. The family will honor their wishes.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on her Memory Page at mvcremation.com
