Mary Ann Caruso

Mary Ann Caruso, affectionately known by all as Mar, was a beacon of light to those who knew her, and on February 9, 2024, she was called to her eternal home. Born on September 12, 1955, in the warm and welcoming community of Mel Rose Park, Mar's journey on this earth was one of passion, spirit, and unwavering faith. After a courageous battle with a life-limiting illness, she departed from this world in Davenport, IA, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration.

Mar was a woman of exceptional strength and vitality, whose voice resonated with the joyful song of one who truly savored life. She was a partner in love and life to her significant other, Carrie Crampton, and together they nurtured a family that was the very embodiment of their shared values and devotion. Mar's heart was vast and her love boundless for her cherished dogs, Carmen and Emma, and her adored cats, Eddie, Everette, Bentley, and Blueson. Each of them a shining example of the spirited life Mar advocated.

Professionally, Mar was a guiding force in her community, serving as a District Sales Manager with TPC, where her dedication and enthusiasm set her apart. Her commitment extended beyond her professional duties as she poured herself into the ministry of Growing in Faith. Mar's involvement was not merely a job or an obligation, but a testament to her belief that through service, one finds purpose.

Mar's laughter was a melody that could brighten the darkest of days, and her zest for life was contagious. She reveled in the company of friends and family, often leading them in song or sharing stories that would leave everyone around her beaming with joy. A lover of fine dining, Mar believed that a good meal was made great by the company one kept, and she was always the most delightful of companions.

She was a woman whose passion was matched only by her spirit, and whose faith was as unwavering as it was profound. In times of challenge, Mar often turned to the words of the Apostle Paul, who wrote in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This scripture was not just a verse to Mar; it was a mantra that she embodied in every aspect of her life.

Today, we do not mourn Mary Ann Caruso as those without hope, for she taught us that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8). We rejoice in the knowledge that she has been welcomed into the arms of her Savior, and we cherish the memories that she has left behind for us to hold dear.

Mar's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her spirit endures in the hearts of those she touched.
