Maye Louise Talbot (Stablein)

September 7, 1954 — January 6, 2025

Kewanee

Maye L. Talbot (Stablein), 70, of Kewanee, IL, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family. Cremation will be directed by Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial, Moline, IL. No services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

She was a beloved Sister, Mother, Great Grandmother, Grandmother and Friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

More than anything, Maye was a devoted Mother. She loved spending time with her children, sharing stories, laughing, dancing, and making memories. She was the strongest woman who taught us strength and to keep going no matter what.

In her free time, she loved to plant flowers and watch the sunrise in the summer. She loved to decorate for the holidays and especially loved baking for Christmas. She loved watching her favorite shows with her family. Her favorite singer was Cher, and she had her dream come true to see her in concert. Scratching lottery tickets was a big part of her free time as well.

Maye L. Talbot (Stablein) is survived by her daughters, Donette Bartman, Andrea “Pippy” Wates, Shirley Wates Kist, and Chrystal Ryan, her son Gary Wates, her 8 Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Some called her Fiesty, Boss Lady, A Legend, Stubborn, a woman with the biggest heart, but her Grandkids would say she was “The nicest ol gal on the block.”

Please offer your condolences and expressions of sympathy to the family on her Memory Page at mvcremation.com
