Melissa S. Sheppard Nelson

Melissa S. Sheppard Nelson, 43, of Silvis, Illinois, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, March 11th at her parent’s residence, after a 4 year-long battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date,

Melissa was born May 3, 1979, in Silvis, IL, the daughter of Richard and Patricia (Jaeger) Sheppard.

She loved animals, listening to music, especially Joe Bonamassa, traveling, shopping, being at the beach, spending time with her fiancé and family, jewelry, clothing, and helping people whenever she was able.

She is survived by her fiancé, Jonny Sandoval, Parents, Patti and Rich Sheppard, Sister, Jennifer Sheppard (Brent Herkes), Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and her beloved dog, Sophie.

Melissa's family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Okba, Dr. Constantinou, and UnityPoint Hospice Staff.
