Nicholas Alexander Holiday, 30, of Crystal Lake, IL, passed away peacefully in the early morning of November 7, 2022, at Winning Wheels, Prophetstown, IL.
Nick is survived by his parents, Howard and Kathie Holiday, his brother Chris and his wife, Christina, and their two children, Cole and Celine. Nick adored his nephew and niece. He was so proud to become Celine's Godfather at her Baptism.
Nick was a talented athlete during his younger years, playing soccer, golf, football, and his greatest love, ice hockey. He continued to follow sports, teaming up with his Dad for fantasy football.
He loved his music, listening to it quietly with headsets or loudly, trying to sing along. He loved all genres of music, but in the end, his favorite became what he grew up with; the old rock and roll classics.
During an epileptic seizure in April of 2020, Nick had a tragic fall over a balcony railing. Following several surgeries for his spinal injury, Nick had to face life as a quadriplegic young man, along with the many related health issues that followed. The past six months had been an especially hard struggle for him with serious health challenges.
Nick's family extends their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Winning Wheels, and the care of Vitas Hospice, for all their compassionate care.
Nick had always had the kind of energy that just filled a home. Then, that boundless energy became trapped in a body that could not move. Now he is back walking and dancing in heaven.
The world seems so empty without him, and our hearts certainly are. For those wishing to stop by to express their condolences, a Celebration of Life will be held during an open house at his childhood home on Saturday, December 10, from 1:00-5:00 pm.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences at mvcremation.com.
