Paul Borvig

Paul Borvig, born in Chicago, went home to Jesus on January 22, 2023, at age 85.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gail after enjoying 61 years of marriage. Paul was a loving father of Cathy (David) Strafford and Karen (Craig) DiLorenzo. Cherished Papa Paul of Harrison (Brittany) Strafford, Krista (Matthew) Schroeder, Jake (Mia) Strafford, Alec DiLorenzo and Jordan (Yeongseo) DiLorenzo. He was also blessed with three great-granddaughters.

Paul earned a degree in business from Northwestern University, where he met Gail. In addition to being a dedicated husband and father, Paul enjoyed time with friends while playing and watching all sports. Paul was table tennis champ at Northwestern University. He excelled in bowling and helping others improve their game through his career running Hal Lieber’s Bowling and Trophy in Palatine. In his free time, Paul loved playing golf, perfecting his game, and took pride in being competitive in all he did. He enjoyed playing cards and Rummikub with family and friends.

Paul was a faithful friend to many, with a gentle spirit, great patience and a listening ear. Paul had an unwavering faith in God with a thankful heart and took comfort in the words of Philippians 4:4-7.

Memorial services will be held at Meadows Christian Fellowship, 2401 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008 on Monday, April 24, 2023. Visitation will be at 10:00am, service at 11:00am. Lunch will be served after the service.
