Peggy Lynn Cardenas Lensen, a beacon of warmth and joy, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024, at the age of 55 due to end-stage renal disease in Davenport, Iowa.

Born on October 15, 1968, in Muscatine, Iowa, Peggy's infectious laughter and boundless kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Peggy was the treasured daughter of Eunice Wright and Roman Cardenas. She grew up in a lively household with her siblings, Michael Cardenas, Steve Kirby, Michelle Wallace, Heidi Gray, and her sister-in-law Tabitha Cardenas, and brother in laws Tom Wallace and Brice Gray. Peggy's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

A proud graduate of Muscatine High School in 1988, Peggy carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life. Her professional journey was marked by over 15 years of dedication as a childcare provider, where she touched the lives of countless families with her nurturing spirit and unwavering care. Peggy's zest for life was evident in her myriad interests. She was a devoted fan of the big hair bands of the 1980s, with Journey and Def Leppard holding special places in her heart. Karaoke nights were a particular joy, and her rendition of "Gloria" was always met with applause and cheers from friends and family. Peggy's love for literature was fulfilled through the romantic worlds spun by her favorite author, Nora Roberts. Her laughter was a common sound particularly during comedies featuring Adam Sandler or the thrilling action of Keanu Reeves in the John Wick series. Above all, Peggy cherished the moments spent with her "bonus granddaughter" Ashlin, whose presence brought her immense happiness.

Described by those who knew her as loving, kind, and gentle, Peggy's character was a testament to the power of positivity and compassion. She navigated life's challenges with grace and always found reasons to smile. Her nieces and nephews, Stephanie Regalado, Cheyenne Wallace, Amanda Reynolds, Mikayla Cardenas, Elizabeth Cromer, Kimberly Robinson, Phoenix Gray, Lucas Wallace, Austin Quigley Jr., Michael Kirby, Deken Gray, and Jaxon Gray, will remember her as an aunt who provided endless love and support. Her great-nephews Gabriel Regalado, Wesley Wallace, Logan Cardenas, Cameron Cromer, and her great-niece Dakota Cromer will carry forward her legacy of kindness.
