Penny Erps, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, left this world peacefully on October 7, 2023, at the age of 72, due to natural causes. Born on July 19, 1951, in Davenport, IA, Penny was a woman of love, humor, and selflessness, traits that were evident in her every interaction.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 28, 2023, with a visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Rock Island Bible Church, 710 - 23rd St., Rock Island, IL.

Penny was the daughter of the late Evelyn and Walter Erps. She was one of six siblings, three of whom have preceded her in death - sisters Eunice(Herb) Weaver and Nancy(Jake) West, and brother Darold(Arlene) Busch. She is survived by her brother Bob(Millie) Erps and her sister Darlene(Delbert) Grosvenor. Despite the challenges that life brought their way, the siblings maintained a strong bond throughout the years.

Penny was a proud mother to her two children, Amy(Christian) and Jeff Erps, who survive her. She was a beacon of love and strength for them, guiding them through life with unwavering support. She was also an adored aunt to nephew Jim(Kristin) West and nieces Tracy(Darin)Strojohann, Kim Busch, Denise Jensen, and the late Sherrie Manley. Her family extended to include numerous other nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

In her later years, Penny found immense joy in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her grandchildren Ashley(Zack), David(Amanda), Corey(Stephanie), Brandy, Brittany(Dakota), Austin, Jordan, Jayden, and Kelsey, and her great-grandchildren Ezra, Audrie, Sebastian, Beau, and Wyatt. Each of them was a source of pride and happiness for Penny, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Penny was a woman of simple tastes and hard work. She earned her GED and began her career at Lusk Candy company in her younger years. Later, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Good Samaritan nursing home, where her selfless nature and warm spirit brightened the lives of many residents.

Outside of work, Penny had a variety of interests that brought her joy and relaxation. She had a fondness for games, regularly playing Bingo and Euchre with friends and family. Gardening was a peaceful pastime for her, and she took great pride in her beautiful blooms. Penny was also a fan of Nascar and never missed a race. She enjoyed watching soap operas, but above all, she loved spending time with her family. Their shared memories, laughter, and love were the highlights of her life.

Penny's legacy is one of love, laughter, and selflessness. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and warmth. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family, and she will be deeply missed.
