Randy Neal Chandler passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023, in Bettendorf, IA, at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 28, 1962, In Indianola, MS, Randy brought joy, creativity, and love to everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Rock Island National Cemetery. Anyone that would like to attend and join the procession to the graveside service is asked to meet at 12:30 pm in the parking lot at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline IL.
Randy was the beloved son of Judy Sandy and the late Jerry Chandler. He was a cherished brother to his siblings Dana Gillam, the late Robin Brooks, Brad Daniels, Kay Knight, Tina Scott, Mart Chandler, and Tony Chandler. Each of them had a special place in Randy's heart, and he in theirs.
Randy was a proud graduate of the School of Hard Knocks. His education didn't come from textbooks or classrooms, but from life's experiences, both good and bad. He took each lesson to heart and used them to shape his character, making him a stronger and wiser individual.
A proud veteran of the US Army, Randy served his country as a young man.
Randy's creativity shone brightly in his beautiful artwork. He had an incredible talent for capturing the beauty of the world around him in his drawings. His artwork was not only a reflection of his skill but also of his soul - sensitive, and deeply connected to the natural world.
One of Randy's greatest joys was walking in the woods, where he found peace and inspiration for his art. He had a deep appreciation for nature's beauty and tranquility. He also had a deep love for his beloved dogs, who were his constant companions and sources of comfort.
His courage was truly remarkable. Even in the face of adversity, Randy never lost his spirit or his optimism. He faced each challenge with a smile, demonstrating a resilience that was truly inspiring. His bravery, both in life and in his battle with cancer, will forever be remembered.
Randy Neal Chandler will be deeply missed. His memory will forever be cherished by his loving family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness, creativity, and courage. May he rest in peace, knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
