Richard (Rick) D. Kuehner, 66, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022, at the Iowa Masonic Home in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Rick was born March 1, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Al and Bernice Kuehner. On June 24, 1989, he was united in marriage to Cynthia L. Bealer in Eldridge, Iowa. They were married for 28 years.
Some of Rick's past jobs included working on the oil rigs and driving a cement truck. He drove a semi hauling U.S. mail to Chicago, Illinois and back for over 10 years until his first stroke left him disabled. Rick was employed as a security guard up until his death. The Iowa National Gaurd was a big part of his life for 10 years.
Rick enjoyed surfing the internet on his laptop, NASCAR, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes play, going down to Florida to spend time with his cousin Mark, and of course, always enjoyed the family gatherings. He was an avid dog lover and cherished all the family pets. He also loved camping. It was his home away from home.
Richard has suffered from health issues his whole life but has shown his family and friends what it looks like to overcome the odds and how to work hard and enjoy the life you are given.
Those left to honor his memory include his son, Matthew; daughters: Jessica Bealer, Jennifer (John) Felske, and Emily (Jake) Castillo; nine grandchildren; sister, Debbie (Dwight) Brockhouse; brother, Steve (Mary) Kuehner; former wife, Cindy Kuehner, and special friend Theresa.
Rick was proceeded in death by his parents, Al and Bernice Kuehner, and granddaughter, Adalin Cynthia.
A memorial service will be on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline.
