Richard Dean Leenerts

May 18, 1956 — December 4, 2024

Carbon Cliff

Richard Dean Leenerts passed away peacefully on December 4th at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Richard served in the Marines. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad, Oak Glenn Nursing Home, and Hope Creek Nursing and Rehab till his passing. He worked in the healthcare field for over 30 years as a CNA.

Richard enjoyed collecting trading cards and coins. He loved fishing. He loved helping people. He had a soft heart for many, especially his residents at Hope Creek. He enjoyed a good prank and was quite the jokester. You might even say he was a " dickster " to those that knew him best.

Those left to cherish Richard's memory: Wife, Cindy Leenerts, Carbon Cliff, IL; Son, Rick J. Leenerts, Moline, IL; Step-sons, Michael (Claire) Hubert, Cedar Rapids, IA. Adam Hubert, Davenport, IA; His Mother: Marilyn Masengarb, Davenport, IA; Brothers: Rory Leenerts, Rodney Leenerts, Randy Shesky, and Raymond Shesky; Sisters June Swain and Laura Jacquin; Grandchildren: Bailey Leenerts and Juniper Hubert.

Proceeded in death brother Robert Leenerts.

A Celebration of Richard's Life will be on December 14th from 12pm to 3pm at Riverfront Grille, Rock Island, IL. Bring your funny stories and memories of Richard to share.
