DAVENPORT, Iowa –Robert “Bob” Craig Springmeier, 71, died March 13, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following long-term health issues. A celebration of life and private interment will be planned for a future date.
Bob was born January 10, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa, to Everett and Loretta Springmeier. He graduated from Davenport Central (’71) and Scott Community College (’73). Bob was married to Denise Springmeier from 1975 until 2005 and they had three daughters together.
He worked for Sears in major appliance repair for 20 years before owning and operating his own appliance repair business, Springmeier Appliance, until retirement in 2014.
Bob loved to live life to the fullest and bend a few rules. He had a huge heart, loved his family and was loved strongly. His other delights included his Harley Davidson, a beach vacation, the next good party, and he was always in the mood for tacos. If you knew Bob, you’ve laughed with Bob. He always brought a bit of laughter and sarcasm into the room. His goofy, up-beat nature that often accompanied a side of playful pessimism and stubbornness will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his daughters, Andrea, Brittany, and Christina (Kaleb White); grandsons of Grandpa Bob, Wyatt Berrie, Weston Berrie and Solon Fleming; his mother, Loretta; sisters and brothers; Debbie (Bud) Friedholdt, Ron (Linda) Springmeier, Cindy LaFrentz, Judy (Ed) Langford and John (Nhi) Springmeier; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who love and miss their Uncle Boo-Boo.
Bob was preceded in death by his father.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to his grandsons’ college savings under "Bob Springmeier Memorial" at IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union.
Please offer your condolences and expressions of sympathy to the family on his Memory Wall.
