Roger D Wheelen passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2021, in Davenport, IA after a battle with cancer.

He was born Derald Ola Dilley Jr in Sioux City, Iowa to Delores (Harrington) Dilley Randall and Derald Dilley Sr.. He was adopted and changed his name to Roger Dean Wheelen at the age of 12. Roger graduated from Riverside High School, (Sioux City IA) in 1971. While working for the FBI in Washington D.C. he met Beverly Josephson and they were married November 11, 1972. Roger moved to the Quad Cities where he started his career at John Deere in 1974. He met Lori S. McWilliams while working at John Deere and they were married June 26, 1982. Roger had a successful career as an engineer for 30 years.
He enjoyed fishing, restoring antique cars, watching classic TV, and spending time with his dogs Ebby and Nikki,
Survivors include daughters Andrea (Heath) Anderson, Chrissy (Dave) Riddell, Regina (Shannon) Brown, Rachael Wheelen-O'Donnell; sister Deanna (Craig) Balls; many nieces and nephews; Grandchildren include: Conner Riddell, Zackery Riddell, Nathan Wheelen, Kaylee Wheelen, Maverick Brown, Noah Brown, Kinley Riddell and Autumn Brown. Roger maintained a very special relationship with his former wife, now friend and partner, Lori Wheelen. He will be missed by his close friends Jeanne Heston and Gary Smith.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Dory Pehling, Dale Wheelen, son in law Chris O'Donnell, and life long friend Joel Mulloy.
