Ronald Deloose

September 12, 1942 — October 11, 2022

Ronald Lee DeLoose of Colona: 80 years old passed on the evening of October 11th, 2022, surrounded by family members. Strong as an Ox, stubborn as a mule! Rough around the edges, yet straight to the point! He may not have showed it well, but he loved us all. Son of Dorothy (Kronfeld) & Henry DeLoose. Ron lived in the Quad Cities most of his life and worked at Borden Dairy & Case International Harvester (retired in 2000). He was a proud Union Member of Teamsters 371 and UAW 1304. He married Lani (Smith) Peters October 19th, 1974, in Moline.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Lani Smith DeLoose, Children Ronda & Troy Harvey (Moline) (Ronda preceded Ron in passing in March of 2021), Shelly & Kevin Whitehair (Moline), Troy & Stephanie Peters (Moline), Matt & Tamra DeLoose (East Moline), Debbie & Dave Waters (Moline), Lorie & Larry Ringer (Barstow), 16 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, His brother Don (Duck) & Alice DeLoose (Silvis), and his dog Jack that he had multiple colorful nicknames for. He is also survived by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law (Spouses) Sandy Nussear (Denny), David Smith (Ginger), Bob Smith, Kathy Driscoll, Barb Ritter, & Danny Knudson (Heather). Along with many other great family members.

Ron was preceded in death by his Mother Dorothy (Dot) Kronfeld & Father Henry DeLoose, his Brothers John, Junior, & Hubie DeLoose, his Dog Kobie, and by his loving Daughter Ronda (Nana) Jean Harvey.

Ron enjoyed his family and Grandchildren. He enjoyed working on old cars and working with his hands. A man of many traits, he could pick up any instrument and play it. He was a member of the Atari Club and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. In his last few years, he had a hard time getting around, but in his previous years he would enjoy helping his kids work on their homes.

A special thank you to members of the Colona Fire, Ambulance Services, & Police Department in their assistance to help get Ron back into his home for his last few days of peace!

A thank you to all that visited in his last few days! Ron’s wishes were to not have any type of services once he passed.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences on his Memory Wall at mvcremation.com
