Ronald "Ronnie" Escamilla passed away peacefully at his home in Davenport on September 8, 2024. He was born on June 10, 1949, to Peggy and Henry Escamilla.
Ronnie worked many years as a bartender and was well known by many friends and customers. He had a mischievous sense of humor and he kept everybody laughing with his pranks.
He grew up fishing and hunting and had many great memories of growing up on Harbour Road doing just that. He picked up playing the drums and played in some local bands when he was a young man. His main love though, was hunting water fowl, pheasant, deer and turkey and fishing for bass. He took up bicycling later in life. He rode the entire Davenport path several times a week.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Vicky; daughter Yvonne; grandson Cody; his siblings, Sissy, Mikie, Jack and George; nieces and nephews Breezy, Randy, Jeff and Brad. Also too many good friends to count.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Baby and brother Mario. Also a favorite uncle, Tito.
He was cremated per his wishes. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
Special thanks to Unity Point Hospice-Eillene and April, and the Davenport FD for all of their patient assistance. Also the "special angels" that helped with Ron's journey. You know who you are.
